About GitHub Backup Observatory

GitHub Backup Observatory backs up GitHub repositories with their full history to storage you own, and shows every run in one dashboard. It is built and run by Shardendu Mishra in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

How it works

• A backup agent runs on a machine you control: a laptop, a server, a NAS or a container.
• It writes git bundles of every branch and tag to a git repository, a folder or an S3-compatible bucket that you choose. Your code never passes through our servers.
• The dashboard keeps the results of each run and lets you ask an AI assistant about your backup history.

Where it stands
